Jerome & Ann Voldness

Jerome and Ann moved to Florida in 2004 after raising 4 children on a cattle and grain farm in Ohio. That’s when they purchased Malabar Feed and Farm. In 2013 they opened Malabar Country Vet and Groomer ( now Malabar Country Veterinary Clinic). They continue with their mission to be a blessing to their community while living their Christian heritage. Now that they have 7 grandchildren they are semi retired so they can spend more time with family.

Dr. Verena Faure

Dr. Faure grew up on her parent’s farm in Bavaria Germany. She graduated from Veterinary School of Ludwig Maximilian’s University in Munich Germany. Her first 5 years in practice were at a 24 h veterinary clinic in Weilheim, Germany. The clinic was specialized in Surgery, Dentistry and general practice. In 1999 she moved to Melbourne Beach to live with her husband. She graduated from the ECFVG program and became licensed for veterinary medicine in Florida. During her 12 years at the animal emergency clinic she rescued many animals and found them
good homes, but Fang, the German Shepherd puppy with 2 broken legs was too special to give away. In 2013 she transitioned to Malabar Country Vet and has since found great joy in working with patients in need and their “parents”. The passion of helping animals in need and seeing them get better has been the joy in our wonderful profession. In her time off she enjoys hiking, cycling, water sports and time spent with her husband and pets. Her Australian shepherd “Leela” comes with her wherever she is.

Dr. Carrie Sherwood

Dr. Carrie Sherwood grew up in Illinois. She graduated from SIU with BA degrees in Zoology and Animal Science, then from University of Illinois Veterinary School with her degree in veterinary medicine.

She has worked with all species of animals. She currently lives with five dogs, two cats, four tortoises, two turtles, a bearded dragon, a toad…and a husband! She is a lover of all animals, running, reading, crafting, decorating and RV trips. We welcomed Dr. Sherwood in August 2019 to our practice.

Katie is a proud 2016 graduate from the University of Florida with a bachelors degree in Animal Science. In her spare time she enjoys riding her horse, Diesel, who is a 13 year old paint gelding. On her weekends off, she loves fishing the Indian River Lagoon and Brevard County’s freshwater lakes. At home she has many pets that she considers family: chickens, cats, koi fish, a box turtle, one horse, and one black lab named Suzie. She is very passionate about animal health and loves working with pet owners everyday as a veterinary technician. She finds it rewarding to help other pet owners via education on animal health, bettering their pet’s lives and increasing their longevity.

Becky is a certified veterinary technician. She graduated from Brevard community college in 2008. Before going into the veterinary field, she was a certified pharmacy technician. She loves playing with her 2 dogs Bailey and Rylee. On her down time, she likes to read or go shopping.

Whitney has always known she wanted to work with animals. It started as a child, with her bringing home every stray she found and every animal free to a good home. She grew up in Pennsylvania and eventually started her own business for animal boarding and doggy daycare. Whitney’s father and she owned property and started to build a farm. They rescued every farm animal you could think of. Some they kept, while others were adopted out. After many years Whitney decided to move to Florida to get away from the cold. She went to school and got a Veterinary Assistant degree. She plans on starting another farm here in Florida. For now though, her husband and her take care of their three dogs: Luna, a Great Dane they rescued as a pup , Buddha their English Bulldog mix who moved with them from PA, and Charles, a French Bulldog they rescued a few years ago from a tough situation.

Lisa has been working in the veterinary field for almost 20 years. She has always had a love of animals and is currently a pet parent to a dog, five cats and two sugar gliders. She also has her degree from Keiser University, as an occupational therapy assistant. She is married and has two sons. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing, crafting and spending time with family and friends. Lisa joined the team in August 2019.

Christine joined the Malabar Country Veterinary Clinic in June of 2018. She has thirty years of experience in the animal health field. Christine enjoys building relationships with her clients and the patients. When not working, she spends most of her time riding her horse and loving her other very special pets.

Crystal’s passion is taking care of animals. She has a small farm and a Wildlife Rehabilitator License. Crystal obtained her rehabilitation’s license in 1998 from the Florida Fresh Water Fish & Game Commission. In 2017 she started Crystal’s Critter Care and Rescue, Inc – a home based wildlife rehab center. Crystal also pulls elderly or medical case dogs from local shelters. She spends so much time at Malabar Country Vet with her rescues, that when we had an opening for a receptionist, it was a natural leap for Crystal to join us. While she maintains a full time job outside of the animal world, Crystal enjoys working with the animals – it is something she loves and looks forward to doing full time when she is able to retire.

Janet was born and raised in Melbourne, Florida. She has been a receptionist at Malabar Country Veterinary Clinic for four years. She currently has three dogs. Dozer, which many of you already know, comes to work with her every day. She also has Sammi & Shayla. All of Janet’s dogs are rescues, as that is the best breed!
